The Campus Pride campaign is a bold and playful initiative designed to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for the local 2SLGBTQ+ Pride community.
As Creative Director and Lead Photographer, I led the creative development of Campus Pride, a year-long awareness and engagement campaign designed to celebrate, support, and empower 2SLGBTQIA+ students at the University of the Fraser Valley.
The objective was to create a unified and recognizable identity that could bring together a wide range of Pride-related events, resources, and initiatives under a single campaign while fostering a sense of belonging and visibility on campus. More than promoting events, the campaign aimed to create opportunities for connection, self-expression, and community support.
The challenge was creating a campaign identity that felt inclusive, welcoming, and adaptable enough to support a variety of events and audiences throughout the year. To achieve this, I developed a flexible visual system inspired by the diversity and individuality of the campus community.
The campaign incorporated vibrant Pride colours, custom illustrations, and dynamic patterns that could scale across social media, posters, digital signage, merchandise, and event materials while maintaining a consistent and recognizable presence.
At the heart of the campaign was the message "Your Path. Your Journey." This tagline was designed to celebrate the unique experiences of every student while reinforcing the idea that Pride looks different for everyone. The campaign encouraged students to feel comfortable being themselves, explore their identities, and engage with a supportive community on campus.
The visual identity served as an umbrella for a diverse range of events and programming, including drag bingo, karaoke nights, educational workshops, community discussions, and social gatherings, helping create a cohesive experience across all Pride initiatives.
Campus Pride helped strengthen the visibility of Pride programming and resources while creating a more connected and welcoming experience for students across campus. By combining thoughtful storytelling, inclusive design, and authentic representation, the campaign created a recognizable platform that brought together events, services, and community-building initiatives under a single, cohesive identity.
More than a promotional campaign, Campus Pride became a celebration of belonging and self-expression. The project demonstrates my ability to combine creative strategy, visual storytelling, photography, and brand development to create campaigns that foster engagement, strengthen community connections, and support meaningful organizational goals.
